Thrilling Soundtrack Music

Da da… Da da… Da da…

Dun-dun Dun-dun Dun-dun Dun-dun Dun-dun – toodle-oooo…

If you heard the ominous Jaws Tune while swimming, would you paddle to the shore as fast as you could? I sure would.

That’s the power of music. It leaves strong memory residues, and enchances our movie experience by creating a sense of danger, thrill and poignancy.

Here are four movie moments that give me a twinge of excitement.

Jaws theme tune by John Williams

Last Of The Mohicans soundtrack by Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman. The main theme of the film is taken from the tune “The Gael” by Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean.

Diva Dance from The Fifth Element. The singer is Inva Mula and the song is from Gaetano Donizetti’s opera Lucia di Lammermoor.

Mind Heist: Inception soundtrack music by Hans Zimmer

I hope you enjoyed these thrilling scores. Please comment and share your favourite gripping movie moments?

Oh the Jaws theme definitely does it for me! Simply hearing it in my head can get my adrenaline started. đŸ™‚

The Jaws tune is a simple masterpiece. I read that originally Stephen Spielberg thought John Williams was joking when he wrote a theme without big orchestra and menace. Less is more.

Requiem for a Dream is EPIC music. I never saw the movie (have no desire to) but I LOVE this piece.

I also love the Pirates of the Caribbean and the new Batman movies soundtracks. I’m with you on all the rest of the music you put up, except for Jaws. I think it’s been parodied so much that it’s lost a lot of its scariness for me.

Requiem For A Dream is a really haunting piece. Thanks for sharing. And I agree that Pirates movies and Batmans have great soundtracks.

Reetta, that was really cool! Until I read your post, I was trying to figure out the tune you left on the facebook page. Jaws! Yep. I love the Last of the Mohicans. Doesn’t it sound like it came from Ireland? Maybe it’s just me. But I’ve always loved that score from the movie. đŸ™‚

The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack is one my all time favourites. And you’re right, it does sound Irish. There is a bagpipe playing which is definately Scottish but the melody resembles Irish songs.
