Talk Like Yoda You Must
Happy Belated Talk Like Yoda Day! (it was yesterday May 21).
Yoda is the ultimate mentor character. Wise and mysterious with a great sense of humour. Yet Jedi he also was and fearsome with his light saber as we saw in the prequel movies. The special speech pattern thing was the final touch to make him truly memorable. Yoda either put his verbs to the beginning of the sentence or to the end.
“Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.”
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.”

The video of Yoda giving GPS directions was so funny that I had to call my husband to watch it. He’s one of the biggest Star Wars fans I know. He now wants to get a Tom Tom GPS just so he can have the Star Wars voice directions 🙂

I’m glad to hear your husband liked the video too 🙂 In addition to Yoda, Tom Tom GPS has voices for C-3PO, Darth Vader and Han Solo. Talk about great marketing. It would be funny if also Jar Jar Binks and Chewie gave instructions.
I laughed out loud from the yoda gps–is there anyway you can stop reversing? Hilarious!
I do love Yoda and I also liked Han Solo & Chewie. And I know it goes against the mainstream opinion–but I kind of liked Jar Jar too. 🙂 Or maybe I felt sorry for him, I don’t know!

Han Solo & Chewie are a great duo. Liking Jar Jar makes the prequel movies a lot more bearable. I found his voice really annoying.
